This policy outlines what is prohibited while using our plagiarism and AI content detection services.
1. Permitted Use
OriginalCheck is designed for:
- Detecting plagiarism in academic papers, research documents, and content submissions
- Identifying AI-generated content in documents
- Academic integrity verification by educational institutions
- Content originality verification by publishers and content platforms
- Personal or professional use in accordance with these terms
2. Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to use OriginalCheck for:
- Illegal purposes: Any activity that violates local, state, national, or international laws
- Academic fraud: Using our service to circumvent academic integrity systems or to create fraudulent documents
- Content manipulation: Using detection results to artificially modify plagiarized or AI-generated content to evade detection
- Reverse engineering: Attempting to reverse engineer, deconstruct, or circumvent our detection algorithms
- Automated scraping: Using automated bots or scripts to access our service beyond authorized rate limits
- Data mining: Collecting information from our service for the purpose of training competing detection systems
- Spam or abuse: Submitting spam content or using our service to facilitate spam distribution
- Harassment: Using our service to monitor, track, or harass individuals without their consent
- Unauthorized access: Attempting to access other users' accounts, documents, or data without authorization
- Service disruption: Overwhelming our infrastructure with excessive requests or attacking our systems
- CSAM / Child Safety: Zero tolerance. Uploading, submitting, or processing any content depicting minors (persons under 18) in any form — including but not limited to photographs, images, or AI-generated content — is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement authorities. OriginalCheck has a zero-tolerance policy regarding child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We actively detect and report any such content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable law enforcement agencies.
3. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you submit for detection. By using our service, you grant us the right to process your content solely for the purpose of providing detection services. We do not use your documents to train our AI models without your explicit consent.
4. API Usage
API users must:
- Comply with rate limits and usage quotas specified in your plan
- Not share API keys publicly or with unauthorized parties
- Implement proper error handling and retry logic
- Use webhooks securely and verify webhook signatures
5. Violation Consequences
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Immediate suspension or termination of your account
- Permanent ban from accessing our services
- Legal action where applicable
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this policy — including the upload of content depicting minors — please report it immediately to
support@originalcheck.com.
We take all reports seriously and will investigate within 24 hours. For urgent matters involving child safety concerns, please also contact your local law enforcement or the NCMEC CyberTipline at missingkids.org.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective immediately
upon posting on our website. Your continued use of OriginalCheck constitutes acceptance of any changes.
